Dow has announced a new initiative in women’s golf aimed to help ease the financial burden players face as they chase their LPGA dreams. The new “Team Dow – The Next Generation” provides full sponsorship support to four up-and-coming players, three of whom are on the Epson Tour and one LPGA rookie.

While Dow didn’t disclose how much money is involved, Epson Tour Chief Business and Operations Officer Jody Brothers said it’s enough to solve an entire year’s worth of traveling and entry fees.

“This is a huge step in the right direction,” said Brothers in a release.

The four players who will take part in the initial program include Epson Tour players Alyaa Abdulghany, Lakareber Abe, Anita Uwadia, and LPGA rookie Gurleen Kaur.

The players will also receive support from Dow in the areas of mentorship and media training.

Dow currently title sponsors one of the most popular events on the LPGA, the Dow Championship, a team event near the company’s campus in Midland, Michigan. Other Dow ambassadors include Maria Fassi, Katherine Kirk, Corey Pavin and Suzann Pettersen.

“Team Dow – The Next Generation is a natural next step in the evolution of our overall partnership with the LPGA Tour in helping to advance the progress of the game’s future stars to reach their goals in walking the fairways with the game’s best players on the LPGA Tour,” said Carlos Padilla II, head of global sports sponsorships at Dow. “We are excited about this new program working in conjunction with the LPGA and Epson Tours to help these players achieve their dreams.”
