Men’s Runner of the Week

Khaleb McRae
 Alabama

Alabama’s Khaleb McRae secured a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash via a national-leading, world-leading and new personal-best time of 45.02 (converted to 45.13) at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. It is the No. 2 time in Alabama history.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Wayne Pinnock
 Arkansas

Kingston, Jamaica

Arkansas’ Wayne Pinnock started his 2024 campaign with a world-leading victory of 27 feet, 4.5 inches (8.34) to win the long jump at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. Pinnock improved his previous indoor best by half an inch. In improving his indoor best by half an inch, Pinnock remains in the No. 10 position on the collegiate all-time list as well as the No. 3 Jamaican indoors and No. 4 on the Arkansas all-time list.

Men’s Freshman of the Week

Samuel Ogazi
 Alabama

Kaduna, Nigeria

Alabama’s Samuel Ogazi clocked 46.30 (converted to 46.41) in his indoor 400-meter debut at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. Ogazi’s performance moved him to No. 15 nationally, and he is the top freshman in the 400m.

Women’s Runner of the Week

Jacious Sears
 Tennessee

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Tennessee’s Jacious Sears clocked a season-best mark of 22.57 (converted to 22.64) at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic that ranks No. 3 in the world in 2024 and is the fastest time in the collegiate ranks under all conditions. Sears then ran the invite 60-meter on Saturday, with a season-best 7.09. Her time ranks No. 7 on the 2024 World Athletics top list and is the second-fastest all-conditions mark by a collegiate athlete this season.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Mikeisha Welcome
 Georgia

Sr.
Toronto, Canada

Georgia’s Mikeisha Welcome worked up to a third attempt of 13.52m/44-4.25 in her season debut to grab the top collegiate spot (second overall) in the triple jump at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. This put her in the top spot for the league this season and at No. 4 on the 2024 NCAA list.

Women’s Freshman of the Week

Judy Kosgei
 South Carolina

South Carolina’s Judy Kosgei recorded a pair of personal bests in the 800m and the 3,000m at the South Carolina Invite. Kosgei began her meet with a win in the 800m after running 2:05.10 for a new program record as well as a new facility record. Her 800m time ranks 25th on the NCAA leaderboard. She then backed that up with a personal best in the 3,000m with a time of 9:24.31 for the win. Kosgei’s time in the 3K ranks second on the Gamecock indoor record book.
