Two former Vodacom Bulls stars are set to be made available for transfer when their contracts in the Top 14 expire at the end of the season.

According to a report in Midi Olympique, winger Madosh Tambwe (Bordeaux) and loose forward Arno Botha (Lyon) are among a XV of players who will become free agents.

Following a successful first season in Bordeaux, where he scored nine tries in 19 games to help his team progress to the Top 14 semi-finals, Tambwe has made five appearances this season, but has continued his scoring rate, dotting down four times.

According to the report, Tambwe is not in Bordeaux coach Yannick Bru’s plans and the speedster will be allowed to find a new club when his contract expires.

Tambwe spent a season with the Vodacom Bulls in 2021-22, scoring eight tries in 20 appearances as Jake White’s team progressed to the inaugural final.

Meanwhile, Tambwe’s former Vodacom Bulls teammate Botha is also set to be made available after just two seasons in France.

The two-cap Springbok loose forward joined Lyon in 2022 and helped his club finish third overall on the Top 14 table, progressing to the quarter-finals. However, Lyon have struggled this season and currently sit second-from-bottom in the Top 14 relegation zone after winning just four of their 12 matches so far.

Botha enjoyed two stints at the Vodacom Bulls and will be available for a potential return to South Africa as his contract with Lyon ends in June.
