Town hall meetings for the Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE) 2024, for parents/guardians to attend, will get under way this week, with four sessions scheduled by the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT).

All meetings start at 5 p.m.

The key aim of the sessions is to sensitise the targeted group about the processes involved in the administration of the examination, familiarly known as the 11 Plus or Common Entrance Examination.

The first two in the series will take place today, Tuesday, January 9, at the Lester Vaughan School, Cane Garden, St Thomas, and the St John Parish Church Hall, St John.

On Saturday, January 13, meetings will be held at Christ Church Foundation School, Church Hill, Christ Church, and the Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St Peter.

Four meetings will be convened next week.

The first two will be on Tuesday, January 16, at Bay Primary School, Bay Gardens, Bayville, St Michael, and A. Dacosta Edwards Primary School, Belleplaine, St Andrew.

These will be followed by sessions on Saturday, January 20, at St George Primary School, Constant, St George, and Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St Philip.

One Tuesday, January 23, meetings will be hosted at Combermere School, Waterford, St Michael, and West Terrace Primary School, West Terrace, St James.

On Saturday, January 27, the meetings will move to Daryll Jordan Secondary School, Trents, St Lucy, and Grantley Adams Memorial School, Blackman’s, St Joseph.

The METVT’s series of town hall meetings will conclude on Tuesday, January 30, at Deighton Griffith School, Kingsland, Christ Church, and The St Michael School, Martindales Road, St. Michael.

Parents/guardians will, among other things, be instructed on how to complete the online registration form for the choice of school, and will learn more about the deferral and special requests forms. (BGIS)
